One of today's most serious problems is porn addiction.
Watching adult films can have a positive effect on your sex life to a certain extent. Many people learn techniques from it, get ideas from it, masturbate to it as singles and release pent-up sexual tension. In a relationship, it can also have a positive effect, for example, if you watch a film together, which can lead to a frenzied lovemaking session. That's fine.
The key word is "in moderation". When it becomes an obsession, when you get up and go to bed with it, it's the only way you can be satisfied and the only way you can get aroused, then it becomes a problem.

Let's face it: this initial "pleasant" addiction can turn into an unpleasant obsessive-compulsive disorder at any time.
Who is susceptible? I'm currently researching this, but what is clear is that people with addiction are generally more prone to addiction. The Hungarian language makes this connection beautifully: passion-addiction-disease. A person with a passionate disposition is more likely to be addicted to an addiction than his or her dead-legged counterparts.
In my experience, porn addiction is curable. I had a patient who only needed after only 3 consultations!
If the patient is disturbed in his/her daily life by pornography, e.g. even at work, he/she should definitely consult a professional! Watching sex films and visiting sex chats, which seem like harmless games, can cause personality distortions over time, as well as destroying relationships, disrupting daily life and causing job loss. The addict gradually becomes detached from reality until he or she is unable to have a normal sex life.
If I cannot help you, you will be referred to a psychiatrist and treatment will be supported by medication.
We also need to talk about sex addiction, which, like it or not, is a disease.
It can be life-threatening. In severe cases, psychiatric medication or withdrawal treatment is indicated.
Hazipatika.hu writes about it:
There are no accurate data on the prevalence of sex addiction, and no representative surveys have been conducted. There is probably no gender difference in the proportion of sex addicts, and the balance is probably tipped in favour of men only because of "social norms". The basis for this is that men are freer to deal with this problem, more open about it and more likely to bring it to the surface.

The proportions are evened out by the fact that sex addiction can also be caused by narcissistic psychopathy and borderline personality disorder, and while the former is more common in men, the latter is more common in women. Theatrical psychopathy is also more common in women and can also lead to sex addiction.
The problem can also be more common in adolescence, but it is more related to sexual maturation and is basically not about sexual intercourse, but about masturbation. The latter can be a solution for many things, and once young people realise how orgasm can release tension, it can easily become a compulsive activity.
