I wrote the of my Wikipedia an article on late ejaculation.
You can read a lot about the lack of female orgasms, but hardly anything about male orgasms. Yet the phenomenon exists, and is not as rare as the relevant offline literature (i.e. books) claims. Since I could not find any entry on this topic even in the encyclopaedia itself, I have filled the gap.
I invite you here:
Late ejaculation means ejaculation that occurs very slowly, with difficulty or not at all: the sexual act can go on for hours without the man ejaculating (colloquially: "coming"). This phenomenon is not necessarily problematic as long as the parties involved in the act do not experience it as such, and in fact, Tantra, for example, explicitly mentions its benefits. However, those who are bothered by the fact that they are slow to ejaculate, if at all, should seek help from a sexologist to clarify the psychological reasons.
If a man is not able to ejaculate at all, or only by himself (i.e. by masturbation), it may be true that
one of the following statements:
- Too inhibited, i.e. unable to "relax" mentally and nervously during the act
- Coming from a restrictive religious background
- Raised in a taboo prudish upbringing (e.g. parents never talked about sex or only in a negative context)
- He or she has obvious (i.e. known) self-esteem problems
- Plagued by self-unidentifiable subconscious guilt
- Thanks to the widespread misconceptions about human sexuality spread by pornography, "traditional" intercourse no longer excites
- Female expectation is oppressive, meaning: the more a woman expects her partner to leave, the less the man is able to do so - the same can be said about erection
- Latent homosexuality: the man forces heterosexual intercourse because of social expectations, but can no longer enjoy it
- Boring, monotonous married life: this happens in almost every long-term relationship. This is where sex education for couples can help.
In some cases, the cause of this phenomenon is far from psychological.
Such reasons may include:
- Ageing
- Taking medication: antidepressant, antihypertensive, sedative
- Hormonal, neurological or thyroid diseases
- Catching in the act, in flagrante delicto, lack of time linked to the risk of being caught: young people in the parental home, older people in the case of cheating
The topic of one of my next blog posts will be that particular trait that is at the root of almost all sexual problems.
Until then, you can think about what I mean.
